1.What is fused silcia?

Fused silica is a high-purity amorphous silica material produced by melting natural quartz at extremely high temperatures(2200-2500℃) and rapidly cooling it to eliminate the crystalline structure.

2.Why is fused silica used in investment casting?

During casting, ceramic shells experience extreme temperature changes. The low expansion characteristics of fused silica help reduce-Shell cracking/Thermal stress/Casting defects caused by shell instability.It is commonly used in backup coats and other ceramic shell layers to improve shell reliability.

3.What purity levels of fused silica do you supply?

Typical silica content:

  • SiO₂ ≥99.8%
  • SiO₂ ≥99.9%

Customized grades can also be discussed based on customer specifications.

4.What particle sizes of fused silica are available?

Common sizes include:

  • 10/20 mesh
  • 30/50 mesh
  • 50/100 mesh

  • 325 mesh
